Kärleken är fri chat is closed
Save the Children has unfortunately had to make a decision to close down the support chat Love is free.
This is due to the fact that we can no longer finance the activity and the resources that the activity requires. The last day of the Love is Free chat was March 2, so the chat is now closed.
The Love is Free chat has been running since 2015 and we have met thousands of children and young people since then. These children and young people have been listened to by an important adult, have been empowered and respected, and have gained confidence in the adult world. In cases where they have needed more support, children and young people have also been referred for additional support, which in some cases has been life-changing. We have also been able to spread knowledge to other adults who meet the target group and to work on influencing decision-makers and politicians.
Save the Children will continue to work to counter honor-related violence and oppression and children's rights in various ways. The issue of honor is an important issue that we carry with us in all our work on violence against children. We will continue with the Love is Free school weeks, our website karlekenarfri.se and continue to spread knowledge through our school material for children in primary school Free! The rights of all children. We have also developed parental support material that is used locally in several locations
We will also continue to advocate to ensure that children's rights are respected, both at local and national level, in collaboration with other child rights actors.
We will refer children who are still in need of support to a number of support services and, during a transitional period, one of our social workers will continue to answer emails from children and young people, as there are scattered information cards about the support activities.
In the spring, we will also share experiences and lessons learned from the target group that we have accumulated over these 10 years, in order to be able to contribute with knowledge and a basis for influence.
How does the closure affect the work of Love is Free School Weeks?
The Media Office webshop has updated material so that the support chat is not available on material you order.
All collaboration groups need to order new Good to have cards for your next school week, the template is updated and the support chat is removed.
The website www.karlekenarfri.se should still be presented as it will remain and it contains child-friendly factual texts in different languages and reference to other support.
If you have materials for the corridor hanging such as contact cards, posters, roll ups with information about the Love is Free support chat need to be cleared away.
A new auditorium presentation about the support chat has been developed.
Make sure that everyone in the collaboration group knows that the support chat is being closed down so that they do not inform children and young people about the activity.
